S.Trade was officially established under the direction
of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy in December
2000 to overcome the currency crisis at the end of 1997.
This purpose was coupled with the on-going Korean business
objective of supporting overseas market entry of small
to medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in the Gyunggi-do
area.
S.Trade has supported the overseas
market entry of small and medium automobile parts manufacturing export companies (SMEs) in Sihwa Industrial Complex by inviting major auto parts purchasing missions from the North American region to visit Sihwa. Participation in the SAE World Congress & Exhibition, AAPEX show, Automechanika, and Equipauto has also assisted SMEs to penetrate into foreign markets. Furthermore, S.Trade has collected various auto parts electronic market OEM bidding information such as the ¡° Covisint ¡± to provide information to the business circles in the area.
The development of Northeast Asian Logistics Hub
should be systematically linked with the advancement of
the Korean auto parts industry. Therefore, to increase
the synergy effect, an ¡° Action Plan ¡± has been devised
to form ¡° Autoparts Mecca ¡± which focuses on all the auto
parts industries.
Entering 2004, as a part of the detailed Action Plan,
feasibility tests for ¡° World Autoparts Exhibition ¡± ,
¡° Autoparts on and off-line integrated overseas marketing
¡± , and ¡° Latest Foreign Autoparts Exclusive Production
Assembly (Postponed Manufacturing) Complex ¡± will be established.
Furthermore, projects will be promoted with a focus on
practical and multilateral action plans, such as ¡° Overseas
Cooperative Businesses ¡±, to vitalize the local economy
as well as to strengthen the international competitiveness
of the Korean Parts Material Industry.
